The mechanic (as opposed to a technician) advised that the cam belt should be changed as the last one was done around 80,000, and the front near side suspension strut is leaking. The offside one was replaced at the last service, so I wasn't surprised. Now that might cure the the steering geometry issue!
So, when parts arrive, I'll get the other bits done. Oh, that engine management light was a sensor on the turbo - that'll get sorted, too.
Then we'll be ready for another 12,000 miles. That should get us through the winter.
